Safety is a difficult subject. Here are some objections I hear at safety meetings. We already know how to do the job….we have been doing it the same way for years…we never got hurt doing it that way before… this way is slower…I hate hard hats…
The fact is construction IS DANGEROUS. Forget the liability, after you work with someone for a period of time, be they an employee , a favorite contractor or the kid who mows your lawn on weekends for a few bucks. The fact is these people become far more to us than some safety statistic. they are our friends and no one wants to see your friend seriously hurt, or even
killed. That’s why you will see us having a safety meeting each and every week. Where everyone is required to attend, and encouraged to actively participate. Because even a small accident can cause a lifetime of pain. We are also happy to say that we participate in Project Work Safe, a program where the VOSHA inspector comes and inspects the jobsite , looking for and giving advice on how to make the jobsite safer.
