Here we have a picture of a small little cap that goes on top of your hose bib.
I cant tell you how many of these I have seen broken or missing over the years. No big deal right? WRONG! This little cap keeps dust dirt and bugs out of your “no burst fitting”, a fitting that allows water to drain away from the valve back inside your wall. Keeping it from freezing over the winter. Why is that little cap so important? Well if your valve gets dirt and debris in it, and clogs, next thing you know your peacefully watering your petunias and you don’t even realize that the same amount of water is being pumped inside into your wall. And now you have a very expensive pool in your living room. Can you buy just this little cap? Possibly , but I have never found one on a hardware shelf. We decided to model one up in a 3d cad program and print it on a 3d printer.
Total cost per unit about 50 cents. Ignoring such a problem? Could cost tens of thousands. Remember the little details Count!
